Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are ideal for those who want to remove mopping from their list of things to do. Some of them have excellent mapping and obstacle avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to select if you're looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other options, making it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in robot vacuums. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery in mid-clean.
It is very fast and does an excellent job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop rotates at a high velocity and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scrubbing up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is helpful in tight corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest
robot vacuum cleaner reviews mop and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't create as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and performs well, but this is something you'll have to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.
The device is equipped with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the house and locate furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and effectively. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning that is also quite fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to the walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be dried and washed to avoid build-up and lessen the smell.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction and select between a back-andforth or more randomized pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
This device has a fairly high price tag but is packed with a wide array of advanced features. It's important to remember that it carries periodic expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.
This robot
auto vacuum and mop that mops is rated highly on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. This includes an energy button that can also function as a general 'Clean button, as well as a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station after finishing the cleaning process. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, smart navigation, and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus
robot vacuums that mop vacuum is a two-in-one mop and vacuum. It is capable of mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping module which has an elastomer pad. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated but they're a good thing because you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate floorplan map which it uses to create the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which help to shield certain areas of your house from being cleaned with a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair of pets. It was able to capture a large amount of hair that our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some nice jingles to let you know that it was starting and working towards its goal.
Its main drawbacks were its simple app and the need to switch out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't store multiple maps, which could be a problem for homes that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it has certain unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most notable for its massive dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin and a 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base has several control buttons that let you manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to toggle the child lock, which is a nice option for parents concerned about kids tinkering with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the Omni Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it is entangled in a blockage, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. While this was rare, it was a frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert in its app.
Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.
On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxes.
