robots that vacuum and mop (
learn more)
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and an intuitive app that lets you select the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For example, you can choose to have the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent and the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot has done, where it is traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
The docking station has an LCD display that displays the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and
vacuum mop cleaner robot have a long running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to see every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship
robot hoover vacuum and mop is the newest version. In contrast to the model of last year this one has a double agitator in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then change its path automatically and clean them without stumbling.
It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the
robot vacuums uk back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin fills up automatically.
The only downside I've discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these smart features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with its innovative features, top suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It comes with a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the need for a pad. The X40 is also very quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also has an additional side brush that can be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges such as table and chair legs. The robot can also reach under furniture that is low-profile, making it an excellent option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that assists the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Unlike other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpet and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is intuitive and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has numerous features which make it a good choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is full and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available however, it comes with many additional features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There's a wealth of options available which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via direct buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has many features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, with a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing, but it's still not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
