Product Reviews
Izziwotnot's Bailey Sleigh cot-bed isn't cheap but it's stylish and well made. It's simple to put together, although it requires two people. It is beautiful in any nursery. Our panel loved the dark wood and the dowel sides. It's robust enough to be used until your baby turns toddler. It also conforms to British safety standards. The depth isn't enough that your child will be able to climb out the panel, and the distance between slats must not be more than 65mm. This should prevent their heads from getting stuck. It is important to remember that you'll need purchase a mattress separately and that's an extra PS88.
The sleigh shape of this crib is gorgeous and makes it stand out from the rest. It's also very easy to get your baby inside and out of this cot, which is a huge benefit. It is a bit more expensive than other cot-beds however our panel believed it was worth it due to its appearance and durability.
This cot bed comes with the options of walnut or country pine finishes and is suitable for babies from birth. It comes with three mattress heights, meaning you can start your baby starting with the base raised up to make it easier to get to them during the day and later lower it as they grow. It also comes with teething rails to protect your child's gums as well as their precious furniture. When your child has grown out of their cot, you can easily transform it into a junior mattress and then to a couch.
The Westport design from Silver Cross is another cot that is sturdy and made to last. It can be used from birth as a cot, later as a toddler bed, and then as a junior bed. (Toddler guard rails are available separately). Our panel members found it to be a little tricky to convert from cot to bed, but their other half said it was easy and took less than five minutes to complete. It's also a tad more expensive than other cots, however it's a style you'd likely like to keep and use for your children as they grow older.
