Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the
item upgrader or adding additional perks. To
upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with strong bases, like eth Titans have little changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as rewards from missions or chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.
To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.
There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are exactly the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of item names. For instance, adding a Glyph could transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool and replaces the glyphs by a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that are able to be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before being "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of these items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.
When an item is completed and is leveled out, it will be eligible for an upgrade set of components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it will reset to zero in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.
Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to receive affixes that will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available depends on the type of item it is. For example an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete based on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item doesn't attain its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the option to transfer it to a new character and re-infuse the
item upgrades with a new set or upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.
Engineers will utilize a level to compare the height of the building against an established point, like a benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can significantly enhance an
item level upgrade's strength or damage, as well as other attributes. You can do this via the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an
Best item upgrade. Rerolling is costly and should only be done in rare cases.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which are used to acquire Reroll tokens. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.
Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes which made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than other items. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns, and diminished duration due to control or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for all stats. This could be good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can also be equipped with a special bonus that increases the power of the
item upgrader mod by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are rolled in addition to the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.
The game also includes number set that grants an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an item. This is a good method of giving the character more power without spending a lot of money.
Many players reroll their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. Rerolling is a way to gain a stronger character faster, which allows you to progress in the game and reach higher levels.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be arranged differently. They could be of various dimensions, have none of the elements, or contain one element. They are useful for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an extensive selection of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, most upgrades to weapons do not improve the stats of the item when compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have lots of armor or weapons already.
Some set items are upgraded for their own unique functions that can be beneficial in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).
Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items to par with the levels. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items can increase their defense and improve their performance when it comes to damage.
To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button in the screen for their character. This will display the item's characteristics, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
Generally speaking, weapons and jewelry offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs for spells or weapons upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will provide a significant increase in their performance. It will also boost the defense of armor that has an updated appearance.
