The items can be upgraded at any item upgrader NPC in the game. These NPCs can be found in the major questing areas or capital cities. Players can also find item upgraders when they visit dungeons with high-level bosses, or by talking to NPCs in their faction's garrisons.

The World of Warcraft item upgrade system lets players upgrade the level of armor, weapons and trinkets.
