WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade items their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which displays an item's preview when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. For instance, once an item upgrading is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrader gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
