The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

For instance, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent and the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning on the app will show you exactly what the robot has completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks need to be done, such as emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. It's not like the model from last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction automatically and clean around the objects, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its intelligent design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while saving you time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

It is also possible to alter suction power, alter modes, view maps and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot hoover that is among the most expensive available however, it comes with many additional features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mop, utilizes two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature as it stops the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a great method of keeping your home hygienic for longer.

There's a wealth of options available which include the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a number of different preferences. These can be set via the app or there are buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also comes with a number of features that aren't available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
