Robots That Vacuum and MopRobots that clean and
best automatic vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry and wet messes in one time, without having to switch devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its low cost and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide can get you up and running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
For instance, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent and the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning on the app will show you exactly what the robot has completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks need to be done, such as emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. It's not like the model from last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.
As with the other two Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction automatically and clean around the objects, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.

The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature as it stops the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient.
