Product Reviews
Izziwotnot's Bailey Sleigh cot bed isn't the cheapest but it's stylish and well-constructed. It's easy to put together, even though it does take two people, and it is beautiful in any nursery. Our panel loved the dark wood and dowel sides, and is strong enough to last until your baby turns toddler. It also meets British safety standards. The depth isn't too deep that your child could climb out, and the distance between the slats is no more than 65mm. This should prevent the head from getting stuck. You will also need to buy a mattress which costs an additional PS88.
This cot stands out because of its shape-shifting sleigh design. It's also easy to get your baby inside and out, which is a big plus. It's a little more expensive than other cots however, our panel of experts thought it was worth it for its appearance and durability.
This cot bed is available in walnut or country pine finishes. It is suitable from the time of birth. It has three useful mattress heights, so you can start your baby by putting the base up to make it easier to access them during the day and night, then lower it as they develop. It has teething rails that ensure your child's furniture is protected as well as gums. Once your baby grows out of the cot bed it can easily be converted into a junior bed and then an ottoman.
Silver Cross' westport design is a different cot that has a solid feel and is constructed to last. It can be used as a cot right from birth, later as an infant bed, and then as a junior bed (toddler guard rail available separately). It was a bit difficult for our panel to convert the cot into a bed, but their other halves said it was easy and took less than five minutes. It's a bit more expensive than other models however, you'll want to keep it for your kids when they get older.
