It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.

It's extremely fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in one go. The suction motor's 8,000pa makes short work of picking up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is useful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't make the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and is effective however it's something you'll have to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.

The X1 Omni is the most expensive best rated robot vacuum vacuum that can be found in our test, but it has some unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its massive dock which doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base also has a variety of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. While this was rare but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert in its application.

Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot cleaner thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
