It is smaller than other options, making it easier to maneuver into tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.

It is very fast and does an excellent job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt, pet hair, and even droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as effective. The mop rotates at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is useful in difficult corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to install and performs well however this is something that you'll need to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great option for homeowners looking for a highly effective, versatile and ad-hoc cleaning machine.

The device has an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and detect furniture and other obstacles. If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want a cleaner home without spending a lot of time on chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its powerful performance, smart navigation, and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one mop and vacuum. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping module which is equipped with a microfiber pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated but they're a good thing because you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refueling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its accurate map of your floorplan which it uses to determine the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers that help to protect certain areas of your house from being cleaned with mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair of pets. It was able to capture many of the hair that shed by our cats, and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots have struggled. It was fairly quiet and had some nice jingles that indicated when it was beginning or finishing its work.

The app was too simple and you had to alter the modules every time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app cannot save multiple maps. This could be an issue if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good robot vacuum option for those who want an intelligent robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it has certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base and the housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink, and an automatic hoover 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base has a few control buttons, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it is entangled in an obstacle like a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni does not have an "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will need to manually swap between the two, which isn't a big deal except for the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a huge difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's a welcome sight for an industry dominated by boxes.
