1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have examined. They have motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobot models (including the top choice), they use intelligent mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot's power when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned quickly.
Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors, and they're particularly adept in removing pet hair. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.
It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and can work while you're at work, or going to school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. And, if you have to change the mopping pad for a dry one in just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to take off and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. Its flex arm is also perfect for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.
In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest
robot vacuums with mop vacuum/mop to complete the entire house with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a decent cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
This robot
autonomous vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy models of the competition. It's among our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. robot vacuum with mop that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only
robot vacuums uk we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with a simple mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a loud unit. This can be a problem in the mornings prior to work or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and look better. If you're willing with a little more noise and a little more cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should please almost everyone.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The smart robot uses a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner comes with an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to how dirty they tend to be.
For larger houses, it's worth opting for models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your home by using the app or via voice commands. A stair mode can be useful if you own a lot furniture. Additionally, a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you might think from its price. It's a pro at cleaning, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using a single pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. And it's highly self-sufficient with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app also gives access to many features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other
robot vacuums uk vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and underneath furniture better. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot clean that intensely cleans a localized area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit more noisy than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that's less intuitive and a small base station that does not double as a bin to empty.
