The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent option for those looking for a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the robot's dustbin after it has filled up.

Both robots do well cleaning up surface debris from carpets and hard floors and they are very good in moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots we tested the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles and therefore it could be stuck on things like socks or power cords and it can have difficulty navigating across surface transitions like hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include clearing out any clutter or toys it may come across. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filters clear to avoid becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station's dust bin. In our testing the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface types including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin, which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to start or stop cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area.
