The iRobot Combo j5+ is our top choice. It scored well on CR's mopping and vacuuming tests. It can maneuver around obstacles within the home and clean hardwood floors, as well as carpets with low pile.

It is a good fit for homes that don't have carpeting and are mostly made of hard flooring. However, it's not the best option for homes with lots of stairs or large rooms with many rugs. It's also costly but it has the features and performance to justify the price tag.

The iRobot Combo j5+ offers a more affordable option than the i7 and J9 models. It features similar mops with the patented dirt detection system as well as powerful vacuuming. The iRobot j5+ also does well in our mopping and vacuum stress tests, but it doesn't perform as well as the Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni in these tests, which makes the Combo j5+ a less versatile option.

Narwal Freo X Ultra
A highly-rated, highly-functional Gen 4 robot vacuum and mop that adopts a new approach to design, the Freo X Ultra is a well-built machine. The price of $1400 may be hard to swallow but it's often on sale to make it more affordable. The unit is beautiful, and the base station takes up just a small space in the corner of an area.
The design of this machine addresses some of the issues we've experienced with other robotic mops and vacuum units, including brushes that get caught in hair, and the vacuum brush not being able enough to reach the flooring underneath furniture. The ability to sweep carpets and floors that are not covered is also impressive. The vacuum and mop have a high level debris pickup and the mop can quickly saturate bare flooring.
The mops have a sophisticated system that cleans along the edges of walls, and around furniture. The robot is able to easily get around obstacles such as toys, food bowls and backpacks. But it can become stuck or become entangled with smaller and flatter objects such as shoelaces, USB cables, and pens.
This robot was used to vacuum and mop hardwood floors FLOR carpet tiles, as well as pile rugs in an open-plan home. With FREO Mind enabled, it cleaned and mopped the 90m2 space in around 170 minutes, which is close to the average for Gen 4.
A number of features set this
robot vacuum cleaner price apart from others in its class. The Freo X Ultra has a slew of software, sensor and hardware enhancements designed to keep it at the
top robot vacuum cleaner of its game. It claims 3.5 hours of autonomy for areas up to 260m2.
Freo's app allows you to customize multiple functions, including how often the robot returns to the base station. You can also alter the frequency of mopping and the power level (silent, smart), or the mopping's humidity. The app can even identify areas with a lot of dirt and devise a streamlined cleaning route, and dispensing detergent or raising the carpet's pads.
Other notable features include a quick charging battery, a clear display on the robot's underside and a handy dock door that opens easily. The Freo X Ultra is the ideal vacuum and mop for home and apartment owners who are looking to reduce their chores while keeping their home clean and tidy.
Miele Scout RX3
Miele isn't a joke in the world of robot vacuums and has a reputation for quality and innovativeness. This new model is designed to elevate the cleaning performance to a whole new level, thanks to its innovative features.
The RX3 features a dual-suction system, intelligent mapping with 3D mapping, and a camera which transmits live images to your smartphone. The powerful four-stage cleaning system provides excellent dust removal on carpet and hard floors, while intuitive side brushes that swing out and dual suction channels keep corners clean. The 8.5 cm height lets it fit under low furniture, while front cameras and infrared sensors help it navigate obstacles and thresholds with ease.
In our test of how it cleaned baking soda near corners and baseboards The Scout RX3 was impressive. Its suction was less powerful than the other robots, however it was still very silent and moved swiftly. It didn't clean, however and its cleaning pads were difficult to attach and could not deal with dried-on dirt.
The app is on the basic side and lacks features such as multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It supports Alexa but its voice controls aren't intuitive or responsive. And it's also a little difficult when it comes to returning to the charging station following running other robots are able to follow a previous route or sensibly follow a wall until they get to their home however, the RX3 is a fumbler until it quits and sends a failure message to your phone.
Another issue we had was with its smart features, specifically the mapping function and the digital keep-out zones. It was great at keeping our furniture legs and shoes away but it was easily caught on cables, socks, and carpets. We didn't include the Scout RX3 in our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and impressive performance. It's worth a look as an alternative to uprights that are traditionally used.
