Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He reviews and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers can be ideal for those looking to remove mopping from their to-do lists. Some have great navigation and obstacles avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other models which makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic autonomous vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery midway through an efficient.

It's extremely efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways with only one pass. Its suction motor of 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help draw out dirt from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as good. The rotating mop spins at a high velocity and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is useful in difficult corners or along baseboards. The front arms can be used to clean larger objects, such as broken toys or books.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't make as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It's easy to install and performs well however, it's something you'll need to be aware of in case you're purchasing this autonomous vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a wide range of features.

The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home and also find furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean efficiently and efficiently. This results in an efficient, consistent clean that's also fairly fast.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach a wide range of surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor near to the walls or other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.

App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction level and select an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it should make, which will affect how quickly the device can move through your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgThis device is expensive but has many smart features. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the device is subject to periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads must be changed every three month.

This robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and comes with a wide variety of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an power button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a 'Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empties the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home clean without spending too much time on chores. It has powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home clean with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that includes microfiber pads. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate map of your floorplan, which it uses to draw a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers that help to keep certain areas of your home from being scrubbed with a mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing pet hair. It was able to capture a lot of the hair shed by our cats, and even made it into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some nice jingles to signal that it was in the process of getting its work done.

Its biggest drawbacks were its simplistic app and the need to change out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to store multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it has some distinct features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as the 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base has several control buttons that let you manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to switch on the child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognising objects.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck if it gets caught in an obstacle like a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. While this was rare however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni does not have a "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad but mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot vacuum cleaners reviews thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome view in a market that is dominated by bulky boxes and clunky models.
