The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and cleaning robot mop and vacuum Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those looking to cross mopping off the to-do list. They feature impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance, and some even wash and refill their own mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you need to pick if you are looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other options which makes it easier to maneuver into tight spaces or under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic hoovers vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.

It's extremely fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one sweep. Its 8,000pa motor is able to pick up dirt as well as pet hair and poop with ease. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high rate and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. Those same front arms can also be used to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot vacuum cleaner mops and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't create as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install, and it works well. However when you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping you must be aware of this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a wide range of features.

The device has an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean efficiently and efficiently. This leads to a thorough, consistent clean that's also fairly quick.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach areas. They also come with a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be washed and dried to prevent build-up and reduce the odors.

App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction strength and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also disable the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and rug.

This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it comes with a large selection of smart features. It's important to remember that it carries regular expenses in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.

robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpgThis robot hoover vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and includes many physical automation features. These include an energy button that can also function as a general 'Clean button, as well as a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or just want to have a clean home without spending a lot of time on chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home clean with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot has two modules: a combined dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping system with microfiber pads that snap in and out of place. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated but they're a good thing because you don't have to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting pet hair. It was able to collect many of the hair our cats shed, and even made it into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots have struggled. It was fairly quiet and even had some lovely jingles to indicated when it was beginning or finishing its work.

Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to change between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't hold multiple maps, which can be a hassle for homes that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart best robot cleaner that can do both vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock that doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base comes with several control buttons that let you manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally get caught up in an obstruction, such as a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert on its application.

Another possible issue is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually swap between the two, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for a market dominated by clunky boxes.
