The
Best robot vacuum uk Robot Hoover
The
best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are great features.
Check your
robot cleaner's brushes regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them if needed. Some models will automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger bin in the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They feature motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobot models (including the top pick) they employ smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with a feature called carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it detects an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it clean quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors They are also adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a great deal for those whose office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and can be used while you are at work or in school. The only thing it doesn't have that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the
Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.
This high-performing mop and vacuum combo makes use of advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it learns your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It has a battery lifespan that is comparable to other models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to pull back and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach beneath furniture that is low and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire home, and it did so with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of rooms and floors with various flooring types, such as some area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles cables.
It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming it, something we haven't seen in other
Best robot vacuum cleaner UK vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that appears much like a Roomba model than the bulky models from the rivals. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has 100% in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
As with other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's a noisy unit which could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are similarly capable and look better. If you're willing with a little more noise and some extra cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the
best automatic vacuum cleaner robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.
Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with how dirty they tend to be.
If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to inform the robot of which area of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice command. If you have a lot of furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. For families with busy schedules, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be extremely useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad, which uses an oscillating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tried. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process which collects information about your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms to improve performance. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It features a powerful 8000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it is more likely to be caught on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we have examined. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that can't be used as an emptying bin.
