Path of Exile Item Upgrades

The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading the performance of them. They can provide extra damage, AD or even affixes.

Sometimes, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade gear due to their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They boost the performance of the item they're connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternately, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components within them by using an expert or greater salvage kit.

The amount of damage a piece of armor or weapon will absorb is contingent on the extent of its upgrades. The absorption of damage by an item upgrader mod of armor will increase when it is upgraded to the highest upgrade level. However, it's important be aware that this upgrade will increase its weight, causing it to be heavier than it was before.

There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have distinct effects. For example, some upgrades will give the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others will make it stronger and lighter. The kind of armor upgrade an item upgrading can get is indicated by the name of the upgrade as illustrated in the table below.

Some upgrades are magic or a mix of magic and technology, which is identified by an "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees in order to be used. Jewels

All levels of jewels can be made at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a certain level to qualify for these. Jewels can be replaced with another jewel without destroying the original. You can only replace the jewel once in an item of equipment.

The use of more jewels in the movement will make it feel smoother and is usually done to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. The jewels can also enhance performance and create a surface harder than steel, so that the repeated friction caused by pivots does not damage them.

A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the appearance of your shields and weapons. These glyphs give a slight boost in power and can be exchanged, however they're not guaranteed to show up as loot.
