If you're on a budget and don't require a stroller that can double as car seat carriers the Babyzen Yoyo is a good choice. It has a simple, one-step foot brake that's flip-flop friendly.

It's also easy to push and feels solid in navigating kerbs or woodland pathways. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the ultimate light-weight buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, thanks to its super nimble manoeuvrability and fold that fits in the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. The most recent version features independent suspension on all four wheels made from Hytrel elastomer to 'perfectly navigate all types of surface and terrain'.

The bent fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 and 6+ months colour pack combine to create a chic pushchair with a delicate, elegant aesthetic. The base frame weighs less than a kilogram, and is so light you can lift it from the box using just one hand.

The hood, for instance snaps onto the YOYO2 in a calm manner. It is machine washable at 30 degrees which helps prevent the stains that result from smushed rice cakes and carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram starting from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted into a stroller after 6 months old by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great choice for parents looking for an adaptable stroller. The Evenflo Pivot Xplore can be converted from a stroller into a wagon by simply flipping the handle. Parents can then decide the best mode for their journey. The wagon can hold one or two kids from 6 months up to 5 years, and it comes with a spacious storage basket to accommodate all of your on-the-go needs.

The Xplore also features dual canopies that rotate from front to back, providing ample sun coverage for all family members. It has a smaller footwell than some wagons. This might not be ideal for long drives or napping.

The frame of the Xplore feels sturdy and solid but it doesn't have as much flex as some of the other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold, and it's not able to lock tight when folded. It is easy to move however, and can fit through doors that are narrower than 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents seeking a second stroller that's affordable. It was awarded an impressive score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and folded size, which means it's very lightweight, small when collapsed and easy to put into a trunk of a car or closet. It also offers the option of reclining in multiple positions and a parent cup holder. Other important features include two large hanging storage bags and 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels.

It did better in our push and turn test than most of the strollers we tested, but it is nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades are among the smallest we tested, offering only a direct overhead coverage and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a more extensive canopy.

The Delta took us just under 3 minutes to put together using an average manual, and none of the components required tools. However, it is missing certain essential features we believe you should consider non-negotiable in a double stroller like a large basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's latest pushchair that is advertised as a travel system for urban use. It is suitable from birth until around 3.5-years-old. The carrycot and seat can be converted easily with just a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a light Mico 30 single infant stroller seat, a stay-in car-base and a reversible car seat.

It's really easy to maneuver, and the one-hand recline of the seat and the massive shopping basket make it simple for parent-tots to get the child in and out quickly. Despite this being quite narrow, the pushchair handled the bumps of everyday life well and went through doorways without any fuss.

The front wheels can to be locked in a forward position, or they can rotate. This is helpful for navigating through rough terrain. We let the front wheels to rotate while walking along the stony path. It was able to handle this well, although it seemed to be a bit bumpier.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is famous for their all-terrain, 3-wheeler jogging pushchairs, but they also make a good range of 4-wheeler strollers. City Tour 2 is their most loved model. It is easy to use and folds up small single stroller enough to fit into a car boot even with the carrycot attached.

It is a bit heavier than other strollers we tested but the wheels are a rubber composite, which makes it feel well-built and sturdy. It is able to maneuver effortlessly across all types of terrain. It's easy to carry even with two children and shopping bags.

The seat and carrycot both have hoods with pull-down sun canopy extensions that are UV50+. They are showerproof and sturdy unlike other prams' hoods that get bounced back into toddlers faces.

It does not have much storage space, but it does have a large basket deep enough to accommodate a changing bag or plenty of food. You can also use it with the Baby Jogger car seat that is suitable for babies that weigh up to 20 pounds (car seat and adapters are available separately). If you need a stroller that is able to be taken on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent choice.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first appeared on the scene, it stole the hearts of parents across the world. It's an aluminium framed stroller that will see you through your baby's first years and beyond. It comes with a variety of distinctive features like the ability to flip the seat from parent to the world, a large UPF 50+ canopy with an eye-shade that flips out, a spacious basket and adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are durable and foam-filled which minimises punctures. The chassis also has built-in suspension that takes the sting out of rough terrain. It was easy to push and our test driver was able to maneuver the vehicle through tight streets.

It locks automatically and folds in just four steps. It is also able to stand and be trolleyed for easier transport in the trunk of your car or down the stairs at home. It also comes travel system equipped with the ability to add a car seat or carrycot using the adaptors that come with it. The brakes are simple to use using a single travel stroller action colored and flip-flop-friendly.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is easy to use and has a great dual suspension. It folds with one hand and comes with a handy carrying strap. It's also extremely light and durable. The seat can be reclined into various positions. It also is equipped with a double breathable mattress that is suitable from birth.

The canopy/seat has two large sun visors that can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't the best as it’s not as quiet as Velcro, and can awaken napping babies.

The Duet is a stroller with an angled design that can be used for twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It's compatible with two infant car seats and works with a few carrycots. In twin mode seats, the seats can be set so that they face each one. They can also be oriented towards the parents. This will help reduce sibling arguments over who sits with dad and mom. It comes with a large tray for gears as well as a bottle holder and snack tray. It also comes with an automatic frame lock and a compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger that's ideal for parents who love to be active. It is one of the lightest strollers for single running stroller that you can buy for your child. It also has great safety features, including a 5-point safety harness as well as a wrist safety straps. It also has a twist hand brake that's distinct from the lever-type found on competing models.

The seat is comfortable and has plenty of room to sit, but the depth of the seat is not as deep as other joggers we've tested (it's approximately 10"). The storage bin comes with an enclosed zipper to help keep items secure. It can hold 10 lbs., which is sufficient for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters that will fit the majority of bassinets and car seats for infants however, you can use them from the very first day using adapters that work with brands such as BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It is easy to fold and assemble within 5-10 minutes, without tools. The manual is simple to understand and includes multiple languages.
