Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more capable, acing our cleaning tests and tackling various floor types. Choose models that allow you to select between a variety of modes, including self-emptying and clean stairs.
Many of the best models integrate with your smartphone. Look for an app that allows you to save schedules, maps and select cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal-and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive
robot vacuum and mop combinations on the market. It makes use of lidar to navigate making maps of rooms and floors.
The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which comprises linoleum in the kitchen, dining area, and bathrooms, as well as carpet in the middle and a large area. It was capable of driving close to walls and even cross raised thresholds without issue. However, it had some difficulty getting down the stairs in one step. The S1 also did a fantastic job of cleaning hard floors with its mop that moved smoothly on the flat side against the floor and then lifting itself when it was near carpet or carpet.
The docking station on the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and fills its water tank onboard with clean, ozonated water before every mopping session. The dock also adds a cleaning solution into the water for deep cleaning. The S1 water tank is able to hold up to 12 mopping sessions, however this will vary based on how often you use the mop.
The S1 requires regular maintenance, just like all 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to periodically rinse out the tank that has been contaminated to keep it from becoming clogged. You will also need to clean your sensor and swivel wheel frequently to prevent them from getting clogged up with dirt or dust. Overall the S1 is easy to maintain, especially compared to other models which require more effort to maintain.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs' all-in-one robot vacuum and mop is an effective solution to your cleaning needs. The Ecovacs robot vacuum comes with 8,700Pa suction power and comes with a number advanced features like voice control and smart path planning that cleans around furniture and avoids obstacles. Its mopping capability is impressive. Rotating mops actually lift the floor and scrub it, rather than just drag a pad across a surface. The mops are also cleaned and dried in the base station as required.
This robot combination is simple to setup and use, and has a clear interface that guides you through the procedure. It also comes with a hand vacuum that can be utilized to clean those difficult to reach areas that the robot is unable to reach. There are also two water tanks which are automatically emptied or filled. It has a variety of settings that can be used to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does a good job at vacuuming, and has a powerful suction that easily picks up all kinds of debris, including the smaller bits of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are decent, but it can get stuck on small area mats and rugs around my home (which you can mitigate by creating virtual boundaries within the app). Its mopping is quite
good robot vacuum as well, with a pair of spin mops that actually lift and scrub floors, instead of simply dragging the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned with heated water and dried in the base station as needed. The mops are also refilled from the top of the base station when required.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year and their new top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum comes with more impressive features. It has fantastic cleaning results, and it is easy to maintain. This makes it a contender for our list of the top mops and robot vacuums. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition, and an extended side brush will give you a thorough, customised clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up large and small particles from both hard floors and carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests efficiently while avoiding pet hairs and other mess. The sweeping capabilities are augmented by a side brush that extends to reach hard-to-reach corners, as well as an extended mop pad that can be placed alongside baseboards.
Its navigation is smart that can navigate tight spaces and climbing stairs without skipping a beat. It can go from one room to the next without having to reverse direction. This is useful for large homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is less advanced than some competitors, and leaves a huge space around obstacles. This can result in miss-hit spots.
Its app has a streamlined and intuitive interface that will be easy for both novice and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and control cleanings. You can also adjust suction power, mop settings and look up 3-D and 2-D maps. It can be operated via the app, Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri which allows you to monitor its progress from anywhere. You can even use the X40 Ultra's camera remotely to get real-time video supervision. You'll require a stable internet connection to access the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 Pro
Robot vacuums are great at removing dirt and debris but they aren't able to reach every bit of dust. It's essential to clean your home often, at least once a week. This is especially true for dust that collects in corners, on shelves, and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop
robot vacuum uk designed to accomplish exactly that. It's easy to connect it to your WiFI network at home and works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the more expensive models in the S-series from the company, such as the flagship Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It is equipped with a similar LIDAR mapping sensor, but it saves cost by removing mopping functions and using a lower-cost plastic body.
Although it's no longer able to clean your floors, the Q5 has the most impressive mopping and vacuum performance we've seen on a robot at this price. It has a strong suction of 5500Pa, and an
automatic vacuum cleaner and mop empty system that means you don't have to empty the bin manually each time. It also comes with a smart application that lets you choose your floor's type and schedule cleanings. It also has an automatic refill of the water tank and wash system for hands-free operation.
Its mops are also impressive, with 2700Pa of power that can tackle dust, dirt, and pet hair on carpets and hard floors. The Q5 was one of the few robots we tested did not show issues with high-pile carpets and rugs. However, it was able to not pick up kitty-litter or cable tangles. This isn't surprising because it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle-avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robovac we have ever tested. It also has an innovative mapping system that allows it to reach corners and tight places that other vacuums cannot. This device also collects more dust in the bin, which means you don't have to empty it as frequently. It also has washable filters, which can further cut costs. This robot can detect carpets and increase suction when needed. You can also mark off areas you would like to be able to keep from using the app.
