Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances. His main focus is mopping robots and
autonomous vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are an excellent choice for those looking to eliminate mopping from their to-do lists. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list, making it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.
It's efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt as well as pet hair and even droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes into contact with rugs, and the two side brushes help pull out dirt from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by much. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. Those same front arms can be used to sweep up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to install and works well however this is something you'll have to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other
robot vacuum best vacuums in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.
The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home and also detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and methodically. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning and is also quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach places. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be washed and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce odors.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction strength and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it must make, which will affect how fast the device will move through your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
The device has a expensive price tag, but it has a variety of advanced features. However, it's important to keep in mind that it has regular expenses in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.
The robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. It has the power button that serves as a general "Clean' button and a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. It's a top-performing device, intelligent navigation, and long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home clean with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1
robot vacuum with mop vacuum and mop, which means it can handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two components, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module that includes a microfiber pad. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated, but they do mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate floorplan that it uses to draw an outline for cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which can help to keep specific areas of your home from being cleaned with mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting pet hair. It was able to collect a large amount of hair that our cats shed, and even found its way into the nooks and crannies of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some pleasant jingles to let you know that it was in the process of working towards its goal.
The app was too simple and you had to alter the modules every time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app can't store multiple maps, which could be a hassle if you have a home that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock, which serves as the
robot vacuum cleaner reviews's charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink, and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.
The base comes with a couple of buttons for control, which allow you to manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to turn off the child lock that is a great option for parents concerned about kids tinkering with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to detect obstacles and furniture in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it is entangled in a hazard, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It will not work until you remove it manually. This was a rare occurrence, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its app.
Another potential downside is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a big difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in the market that is dominated by boxes.
