The
Best Robot Vacuum That MopsNoah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at
good robot vacuum Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances. His focus is on mopping and robot vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are an excellent choice for those who are looking to get rid of mopping off their list of things to do. Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that also mops then this is the model to look for. It's smaller than the other models on this list, which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of the
best automatic vacuum cleaner navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.
It is very fast and does an excellent job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs, and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as effective. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful when you're trying to get into difficult corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can be employed to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't create as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to install and is effective, but this is something you'll need to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home, find furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and effectively. This leads to a thorough, consistent clean which is also relatively quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching an array of surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach places. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls or other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to eliminate odors and stop buildup.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the intensity of its suction and select between a back-andforth, or a more randomized pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
The device has a expensive price, but is packed with a wide array of smart features. It's crucial to remember that it carries periodic expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad must be replaced every one to three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner is rated highly on Amazon and comes with a wide array of physical automation features. The vacuum also has a power button which doubles as a 'Clean' button' as well as a 'Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, smart navigation, and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot
automatic vacuum and mop and mop that is, it can do mopping and vacuuming. It has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair from pets. It was able to collect a lot of the hair sheds from our cats. It even made it into the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots struggled. It was fairly quiet and even had some lovely jingles to indicated when it was beginning or completing its task.
Its main drawbacks were its simplistic app and the need to swap between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't keep multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a
good robot vacuum option for those who want an intelligent robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it has some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is notable for its huge dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as the 2.5 milliliter dust bin.
The base also has a number of control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning and then recall the robot or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at finding objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could sometimes get so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you manually free it. This was a rare occurrence, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert on its app.
Another issue that could be a problem is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during cleaning. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't too bad except for the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.
On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for an industry dominated by boxy models.
