Robot vacuums and mops have become more efficient, passing our cleaning tests and tackling a variety of floor types. Select models that allow you to select between a variety of types, including self-emptying and clean stairs.
Many of the top models work with your smartphone. Find an app that allows you to save maps, schedules, and choose cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuum and mop combos available on the market. It makes use of lidar to navigate, create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels) and is compatible with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set schedules and customize the behavior of the S1.
When I tried the S1, it was quick to map our downstairs, which is home to laminate flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, plus medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It easily drove close to walls without crashing into them and even managed to cross raised room thresholds with no issue, though it occasionally struggled to get down stairs in a single step. The S1 did a good job cleaning hard floors. Its mop drove smoothly on its flat side and raised itself when it was near carpets or rug.
The docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and fills its water tank onboard with clean, ozonated water prior to every mopping session. The dock also provides an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1's water tank can hold enough water for about 12 cleaning sessions before needing to be emptied, though this will vary depending the amount you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires regular maintenance to keep it working well. You'll need to periodically rinse out the dirty tank to prevent it from becoming blocked. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors frequently to avoid them from getting blocked by dust or dirt. Overall the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs' all-in-one
robotic hoovers vacuum and mop provides an effective solution for your cleaning requirements. The robot vacuum is rated at 8,700Pa of suction, and comes with many innovative features, including full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning to avoid obstacles and cleans around furniture. The mopping feature is remarkable, with mops rotating that actually lift and scrub the floor, rather than simply moving the pad across it. The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station, as required.
This

It also comes with a hand-vacuum which can be used to clean those hard-to reach areas that the robot is unable to reach. There are also two water tanks that are automatically emptied or filled. It has a variety of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a good vacuum cleaner. It has a strong suction which can effortlessly remove dust and debris that other robots have trouble with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty robust, however it is sometimes hung up on the small carpets or area mats that I have in my house (which is something you can control by defining a virtual boundary in the application). Mopping capabilities are excellent and include a pair of mops which are able to lift and scrub floors instead of simply dragging the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station when required. The mops are also filled from the top of the base station as needed.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year, but their new top-of-the-line
robot vacuum that vacuums and mops mop and vacuum has more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-free maintenance, making it a clear contender on our top mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart detection and a larger side brush ensure an effective, customized cleaning is completed.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up fine and large debris from both hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned our test's dirtiest areas well, keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other mess. The sweeping capabilities are augmented by a side brush that extends to reach hard-to-reach corners, and an extending mop pad that can be placed alongside baseboards.
Its navigation is smart that can navigate narrow spaces and negotiating stairways without skipping a step. It can go from one room to another without needing to reverse the direction. This is useful for homes that have multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is not as advanced than other models However, it tends to leave a wide distance around obstacles, which can result in missed spots.
The app features a simple and intuitive interface that will be easy to use for both new and experienced users. The app allows you to plan and manage cleanings, alter the suction power and mopping settings and view 3D and 2D maps, and much more. It can be controlled via the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can even tap into the X40 Ultra's camera remotely for live video surveillance. But, you'll require a reliable Wi-Fi connection to operate it via the app as well as external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 pro
Robot vacuums are great at picking up dirt and debris, but they aren't able to reach every bit of dust. It's important to vacuum frequently, every week. This is particularly important for dust that accumulates in corners, on shelves, and in crevices in your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that both vacuums and mops, is designed to do exactly that. It's easy to connect it to your home Wi-Fi network and is compatible with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more useful addition to your cleaning routine.
The Q5 is a stripped down version of the more expensive S-series models from the company, which includes the flagship Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It is equipped with a similar LIDAR mapping sensor, but it saves cost by removing mopping and using a cheaper plastic body.
Even though it's not able to wipe your floors, the Q5 has the
best automatic vacuum cleaner vacuum and mopping performance we've seen from a robot at this price. It has a strong suction of 5500Pa, and an automatic empty system so you don't need to empty the bin manually every time. It also comes with a smart application that lets you choose your floor's type and schedule cleanings, as well as an automatic water tank refill and wash system for hands-free operation.
Its mops also impress with its 2700Pa capacity to tackle dirt and pet hair on carpets as well as hard flooring. The Q5 was one of the few robots that we tested that did not have a problem with high-pile area carpets and rugs. However, it did not remove kitty-poop or cable tangles. This isn't a surprise as it doesn't contain AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is one of the quietest robot vacuums we've tested. It also utilizes a unique system to map your home, which really helps it get into corners and tight spaces that other vacuums are unable to reach. This device also has a larger bin, so you don't have to empty it as often. Furthermore, it comes with washable filters, which reduces the cost of using the device. The robot is also able to detect carpets and increase suction if needed. The app also lets you to mark areas you want to stay clear of and is a great feature.
