The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a great deal for those whose office or home has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and operates while you're at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has a powerful suction and an automatic vacuum and mop bin for emptying. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensor technology that can stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and provide cleaner and more efficient cleaning. You can alter the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones with the well-designed app. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular look that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy units of the competitors. It is one of our most attractive looking robot hoover and mop vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud that could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to live some more volume and a little more cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, and washes and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot vacuum cleaners uk makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front to detect hazards in real-time however, it wasn't foolproof in our testing and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and also adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to how dirty they are.

The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It is a great job vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we've tested. It also has an app that's less intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
