It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-filling.

The only negative I discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. You can change the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. But you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is intuitive and easy to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is full and alert you before it overflows, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It has a number of characteristics that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mopping system is well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
