The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good deal for those whose home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save money. It's also quiet and works while you're at work or in school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner that is similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, as well as washes and drys mop pads.

It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through the mapping process, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map.
