Robot vacuums and mops are getting more efficient. They pass our cleaning tests, and can take care of a variety of flooring. Choose models that allow users to select between different modes, including self-emptying and clean stairs.
A lot of the top models work with your smartphone. Look for an application that lets you save maps, set schedules, and choose cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuum and mop combos available on the market. It uses lidar to navigate and create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels) and integrates with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set up schedules and modify the behavior of the S1.
The S1 was able to map my downstairs quickly, which includes linoleum flooring in the dining area, kitchen, and bathrooms, as well as medium-pile and a large rug. It was capable of driving close to walls and even across thresholds that are raised without issue. However, it had some difficulty navigating down the stairs in one step. The S1 also did a great job of cleaning hard floors, with its mop driving smoothly on its flat side against the floor and then lifting itself when it reached carpet or carpet.
The docking station on the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and fills its water tank on board with clean, ozonated water before each mopping session. The dock also provides an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1 water tank can be able to accommodate 12 mopping sessions, however this will vary depending on the frequency you use the mop.
The S1 requires regular maintenance, just like any other 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to wash out the tank that has been contaminated to avoid it becoming blocked. Also, you'll need to clean your swivel wheel and sensors regularly to avoid them becoming blocked by dust or dirt. But, overall, the S1 is easy to maintain, especially compared to other models which require more effort to maintain.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robot mop and vacuum from Ecovacs is a reliable option for cleaning requirements. The robot vacuum is rated at 8,700Pa of suction, and comes with numerous innovative features, including full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning that eliminates obstructions and cleans furniture. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive. Rotating mops actually lift the floor and scrub it instead of simply dragging a pad across the surface. The mops can be cleaned and dried at the base station, if needed.
This robot combo is easy to set up and use, with a simple interface that guides you through the procedure. It also comes with a hand vacuum that can be utilized to clean those difficult to reach areas that the robot is unable to reach. There are two water tanks that are automatically emptied or filled. It comes with a variety of useful settings that allow you to fine tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is an excellent vacuum cleaner. It has a strong suction which can easily remove dirt and other debris that other
robots that vacuum and mop have trouble with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, too, even though it can sometimes get caught in the small carpets or area mats that I have in my home (which is something you can reduce by creating a virtual boundary within the application). Its mopping capabilities are also quite good with a pair of spinning mops which are able to lift and scrub floors, rather than just drag the pad across it. The mops can also be cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station as needed. Mops are also refilled from the top of the base station when required.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop were released earlier in the year. But their new flagship model has even more impressive features. It offers outstanding cleaning results and hands-free maintenance, making it a clear contender on our top mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush will give you an efficient, customized clean.
The X40 Ultra vacuums well, removing both fine and large debris. It is a great choice on hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned our tests' most filthy areas well, and keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other dirt. The sweeping performance of the machine is enhanced by a sidebrush that swings out in order to get into areas that are difficult to reach and mop pads that run along baseboards.
Its navigation is smart it can navigate tight spaces and climbing stairs without missing a beat. It can move from one area to another without having to reverse direction it is a useful feature for homes with several rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is not as advanced than some competitors However, it tends to leave a large distance over obstacles, which can result in missed spots.
The app's interface is intuitive and well-organized. It should be easy to use by both novice and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and control cleaning tasks. You can also alter the suction power, mop settings, and view 3-D and 2D maps. You can control it via the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also use the X40 Ultra's camera remotely, for real-time video monitoring. You'll need a stable internet connection to access the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 Pro
Robot vacuums are excellent at removing dirt and debris, but they're not able to get all dust. This is why it's crucial to use your regular vacuum once a week, especially to remove dust from corners and on shelves and in the corners of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot designed to do exactly that. It's easy to connect to your home Wi-Fi network and also works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is an edgier version of the company's more pricier S-series models, including the flagship Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It has a similar LIDAR mapping sensor, but cuts down on cost by removing mopping and using a lower-cost plastic body.
Even though it's not able to wipe your floors, the Q5 still has some of the best mopping and vacuum performance we've seen on a robot in this price range. It's got a powerful suction power of 5500Pa and an
automatic vacuum cleaner and mop emptying system, so you don't have to empty the bin manually every time. It also comes with a smart app that lets you select your floor type and schedule cleanings, as well as an
automatic vacuum and mop robot water tank refill and wash system to allow hands-free operation.
Its mops are also awe-inspiring with 2700Pa of power that can tackle dust, dirt, and pet hair on both hard floors and carpets. The Q5 was among the few robots we tested to not have a problem with high-pile area carpets and rugs. However, it did not remove kitty-poop or cable tangles. This isn't too surprising, since it does NOT include AI-powered obstacle-avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robovac we have ever tested. It also uses an innovative mapping system that helps it reach tight corners and corners that other vacuums are unable to. It also collects more dust in the bin, which means you don't need to empty it as frequently. It also has washable filters which further reduces costs. This robot can detect carpets, and boost suction if needed. You can also mark off areas you want the robot to avoid using the app.
