1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the most powerful model) they utilize intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. The robots also come with a feature called Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our floor tests that test for bare floors and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a good value for those whose home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and operates when you're at work or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for a wet one in minutes.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time to offer better cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to other models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm is also great for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete the entire house with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on various flooring and rooms with different flooring types including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
This robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that appears much like a Roomba model than the boxy units of the competitors. It is one of our most appealing looking
robot cleaner with mop vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's also the only robotic vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It comes with an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud which could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.
It's also quite expensive however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to live some more volume and some extra cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take charge of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart
robot vacuums with mop makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home depending on how dirty they tend to be.
If you have a bigger home, it is worth choosing a model that has the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to inform the robot of which area of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice command. A stairway mode is useful if you have a lot furniture. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your
robot vacuum cleaner reviews vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you'd expect from its price tag. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad that has a reciprocating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It has a powerful 8000 Pascal suction as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to getting caught on low thresholds and is louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've tested. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as an emptying bin.
