Bedside Cot ReviewsA
bedside sleeper cot crib (also called a bassinet) is located near your bed so you can safely tend to baby during night feeds and nappy changes without needing to get out of bed. They are also great for developing independence as your little one grows more comfortable in their own bed.
The Joie Roomie Glide
The Joie Roomie Glide is a
bedside crib with wheels crib that allows parents to sleep together with their baby while making sure that they're asleep safely. Its smooth gliding motion will help to soothe your baby to sleep and its ingenious features allow you to monitor your child without having to leave bed.
The side panel that slides out of the crib can be raised and lowered by a simple press of a button. This makes it easy to reach inside and soothe a baby at night. It also has 11 height adjustments that allow it to fit on the mattress of almost any size bed and it has adjustable folding feet to ensure that it's placed at just the right height.
In terms of safety the cot is padded and fitted with mesh sides for better ventilation, and its mattress is made of high-density foam for extra protection. It's also wipeable to keep it clean, and it is fitted with a sheet that is suitable for the cot.
The Roomie Glide, unlike some other cribs for bed, is compatible with all beds including divans. This is due to the straps and clips that connect it. It can also be used as a standalone crib if it isn't attached to the bed. It comes with a variety of wonderful features designed with the idea of parent-child bonding in mind.
One thing to bear in mind is that while this crib is perfect for newborns, it won't last long after your baby turns six months old, so you will need to invest in a bigger cot. Overall, Roanna thought that the Joie Roomie Glide crib was an excellent buy. She liked its sleek design.
The Roomie Glide is available to purchase at John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna thought was an affordable price for a cot featuring these advanced features. She liked the way it looked in her bedroom, and thought its gray color would be appropriate for the majority of modern homes. She did point out that it's not a good idea to rock a baby in the early years because it can cause an unfavourable sleep pattern for later.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning
bedside cot used crib designed with a safe night's sleep in mind. It comes with an adjustable side rail that can be easily lifted to feed your child during the night without disturbing them or forcing them out of bed. This is perfect for mothers who breastfeed! It's also light, making it easy to move around the house during naps and when traveling.
It's made of soft materials and has breathable mesh sides to promote airflow. It's available in charcoal and oak, with a range of melange fabrics that are compatible with all decor styles. Anna found it solid and secure when it was attached to her bed, with the legs securely snapping into place and the zips secure to ensure safety for babies. It took Anna approximately 10 minutes to put it together and didn't require any tools. There are clear instructions as well as a video, and a customer support number if you encounter any issues.
The CoZee crib has all the features you'd expect from a crib to your
bedside crib co sleeper, such as the ability to connect it to your bed using a stay-in-place connection system. It also has six height settings. Additionally there is an inclined feature that can be used to help infants suffering from reflux or congestion. It is also machine-washable essential for all the dribbles and vomit that come with a newborn baby!
The CoZee is a fantastic option to keep your child in the first six months of learning to fall asleep independently. It can be used as a changing station, cot or toddler bed. It can be turned into a sofa bed with the addition of an extension pack. While it won't be able to magically bring your baby to sleep or feed them, it can rock the baby and take them to school.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of the more expensive models, but it has a wide array of features. It can be used either a side-sleeper or a standalone crib, and is suitable for infants from birth to six months. It's easy to open and close the side panel thanks to a new mechanism. It's also more adjustable than its predecessor with 11 different height levels and feet that retract to fit under any bed.
Our testers loved the easy access to the side panel that can be flipped up and down by pressing one button. This was particularly helpful during nighttime feedings as they could reach in and pick up their baby without disturbing them up.
It is possible to lower the side panel it's own, however this is not advised, as it increases the risk that your baby will fall out of the cot. However, the patented safety locking mechanism ensures that it will only remain in place when it is attached to the parent's bed correctly. This feature is great to have peace of mind when you breastfeed and require frequent feedings at night.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be a perfect fit for any bed that includes divan bases as well as beds with drawers due to the legs that can be telescopic. It also has tilting functions to help babies who are refluxy and a rocking feature to soothe them back to sleep after feeding. It's also very large and has great ventilation due to its mesh sides.
Our test participants found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, although it does have quite a long instruction manual. It's a bit heavier than some of the other side-sleepers, however it's quite portable and can be moved from room room easily. It's small enough to fit into a travel bag when not in use which is an advantage if you need to transport it. The only drawback our testers noticed was that the side panel did not flex like some of the other models, making it difficult to observe your child from your bed.
The Shnuggle Air
If you're looking for an ideal
bedside baby sleeper crib that can grow with your child, then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth a look. Designed to be a co-sleeping bassinet that will attach securely to your bed, but can also convert into a stylish cot once your baby is ready. It's perfect for night-time feeds and growing your bond with your baby.
The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, unlike some other cribs. The mesh side panels with dual-view and hypoallergenic, breathable airflow mattress increase airflow and keep your baby cool and comfortable. A gentle incline option helps to ease reflux and colic while the zip down side allows you to feed or comfort your baby during the night.
The kit for converting cots is also well-designed, with clear instructions. It comes with everything you need. It took us about an hour to assemble, and was relatively simple. The only downside to the instructions was that a few pictures did not have captions. This made it difficult to follow. However, it was a simple procedure and the quality of materials used was excellent.
The Shnuggle Air is a great choice for mothers who are breastfeeding or have had a c-section. It allows them to reach out and hold their baby for comfort and feeding without leaving their bed. It's also great for those who prefer not to go through the stress of getting in and out of a traditional cot or putting their baby down to sleep.
The gliding motion was found to be extremely helpful in lulling babies to sleep following meals during the midday or at night. The drop-down side can also be easily accessed to feed or calm babies in the middle of the night this was a huge selling point for our exhausted test mothers. The Joie Roomie Glide is a elegant and practical crib that isn't rocking, or have extra features such as a sound machine.
