It uses a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best rated robot vacuum navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.

It's efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single sweep. Its 8,000pa motor is able to pick up dirt, pet hair, and poop effortlessly. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the two side brushes help draw out debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, but not by much. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It doesn't make the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and is effective however, it's something you'll have to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin and a 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic hoover emptying procedure. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it gets entangled in an obstacle, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't function until you untangle it manually. While this was rare, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni does not have a "stuck" status alert in its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during a cleaning robot mop and vacuum session. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a big difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxy models.
