The best robot vacuum and mop robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and it leaves your floors spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Examine your robot's brush regularly for tangled debris and hair. Wash them when necessary. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in a larger bin at the bottom. This can reduce the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They have top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other top iRobot models (including the top pick), they use smart mapping technology to design precise floor plans and eliminate common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests and are particularly effective in removing pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it when you're at work or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be replaced with a wet one in seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a powerful suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensor technology that can avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and ensure better cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted area to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete the task of cleaning a whole home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms that had various flooring types, such as some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog socks, turds, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxy units This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robotic hoovers mop or vacuum that has 100% in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has a simple mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device which could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you try to fall asleep.

It's also a bit costly however, not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful, but it will cost you more and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features to help you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot uses an array of LIDAR and structured light to draw out the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner comes with a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with the amount of dirt they tend to be.

If you own a larger home, you should consider choosing a model that has the option of cleaning zones or spots. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. Finally, a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more advanced than the price suggests. It's a pro at vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to create a spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It does a good job vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to be caught by low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've tried. It also has an app that's not as intuitive, and a smaller base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
