Its 8,000pa motor is able to pick up dirt hair, pet hair, and droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as good. The mop rotates quickly and utilizes 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger debris such as books and toys that have been damaged.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't create as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install and performs well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely for mopping you must pay attention to this.

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it also has distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is notable for its enormous dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base comes with several control buttons, which allow you to manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to turn off a child lock, which is a nice option for parents concerned about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will stay clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at finding objects.

This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it gets entangled in a blockage like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert on its app.

Another possible issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad but the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between use. This can lead to mildew and mold.

On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing view in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
