Robot vacuums and mops are getting more powerful. They have passed our tests for cleaning, and can take care of different flooring. Look for models that allow you to choose from multiple modes, use their charging docks to automatically empty and clean up stairs.
Many of the
best automatic vacuum cleaner models are compatible with smartphones. Check for an application that lets you save maps, schedules and select cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive robot vacuums and mop combinations available. It uses lidar to navigate, create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels) and integrates with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set schedules and alter the behavior of the S1.
When I tried the S1, it was able to identify our downstairs, which is home to linoleum flooring in the kitchen-diner and bathrooms, along with carpeting with a medium-pile and an area rug. It was able to drive right up to walls without crashing into them, and even managed to cross thresholds for rooms that are raised without problem, although it sometimes struggled to get down the stairs in one move. The S1 also did a fantastic job cleaning hard floors, with its mop driving smoothly on its flat side against the floor, and then lifting its own weight when it reaches carpet or rug.
After every mopping session, the docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its dust bin and refills its water tank with clean filtered ozonated water. The dock adds a deep-cleaning solution to the water. The S1's tank of water holds enough water for around twelve cleaning sessions before it needs to be emptied, though it will differ based the amount you use the mop.
The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like any other 2-in-1 robots. To do this, you'll need to rinse out the dirty water tank occasionally to avoid it from clogging. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheels and sensors regularly to keep them from getting clogged by dirt or dust. But, overall the S1 is simple to maintain, particularly compared to other combinations that require more care.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs all-in-one robotic vacuum and mop is a powerful solution for cleaning. Its robot vacuum boasts 8,700Pa of suction, and comes with a number of innovative features, including full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning to avoid obstructions and cleans furniture. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive. Rotating mops actually lift the floor and scrub it, rather than simply dragging a pad across the surface. The mops can also be dried and cleaned at the base station, if needed.
This
robot vacuum cleaner uk combo has an easy-to-use interface that guides you throughout the process. It also includes a hand vacuum which can be used to clean those hard-to reach areas that the robot cannot reach. There are also two water tanks that are automatically filled or empty. It also has a range of settings that can be used to fine tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does excellent job of vacuuming, with strong suction that easily picks up most debris and even the tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, too, even though it can sometimes get caught up on the small area mats or rugs that I have in my house (which is something you can control by creating a virtual border in the application). The mopping feature is pretty impressive, and comes with two spinning mops that actually lift and scrub floors, instead of simply dragging the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station whenever needed. The mops are also filled from the top of the base station as needed.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was released earlier this year. But their latest flagship model comes with even more impressive features. It offers outstanding cleaning results and hands-off maintenance which makes it a strong contender on our top mop and robot vacuum list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush ensure a thorough, customised clean.
The X40 Ultra vacuums well, getting rid of both large and fine debris. It works equally well on carpets and hard floors. It cleaned the dirtiest places of our tests with ease, avoiding pet hairs and other mess. The sweeping performance of the machine is enhanced by a sidebrush that swings out in order to reach areas that are difficult to reach, and mop pads that run across baseboards.
Its navigation is smart, navigating narrow spaces and climbing the stairs without a hitch. It can move from one room to another without having to reverse direction which is a great feature for larger homes with many rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is not as advanced than the ones of other competitors and leaves a large margin around obstacles. This can lead to missing spots.
The interface of the app is simple and streamlined. It should be easy to use by both novice and experienced users. The app lets you plan and manage cleanings, alter the suction power and mopping settings and view 3D and 2D maps, and much more. You can control it through the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can even remotely control the X40 Ultra camera for real-time monitoring. You will require a stable WiFi connection to use the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 Pro
Robot vacuums are fantastic in removing dirt and debris but they can't reach every speck of dust. That's why it's important to make use of your regular vacuum once every week, and especially to remove dust from corners, on shelves and in the corners of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums and mops, is designed to do just that. It's easy to connect it to your home Wi-Fi network and is compatible with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more convenient addition to your cleaning routine.
The Q5 is a stripped down version of the more expensive S-series models from the company, including the flagship Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It has the same LIDAR mapping sensors, however it's less expensive because it doesn't have mopping capabilities and has a plastic body.
The Q5 is still one of the most powerful vacuums and mopping robots we've seen in this price range, even though it's not equipped to clean your floor. It has a suction power of 5500Pa, and an
automatic vacuum cleaner empty system that means you don't have to empty the bin manually every time. It also features a smart app that lets you set the type of floor and schedule cleanings. It also has an automatic water tank refill and wash system for hands-free operation.
Its mops also impress with its 2700Pa power that can take on pet hair and dirt on carpets as well as hard flooring. The Q5 was one of the few robots that we tested to not have a problem with high-pile area carpets and rugs. However, it did not remove kitty-poop or cable tangles. This isn't surprising because it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle-avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robotic vacuum we've ever tested. It also has an innovative mapping system that lets it reach tight corners and corners that other vacuums can't. The device also collects dust in a larger dustbin which means you have empty it less frequently. It also has washable filters which further reduces costs. The robot can recognize carpets, and boost suction if necessary. The app allows you to mark areas you want to avoid this is a useful feature.
