They claim that evolution is not possible because it would require an extraordinary event, and that the founders of modern science rejected miracles out of fear that they would lose credibility.

Some creationists accept both naturalistic evolution and special creation, and call their position "theistic evolution." This is sometimes also referred to as "continuous creationism" or "evolution from the original species." This theory states that God creates species from scratch and allows them to change over time. Then the evolutionary changes result in new species identical to the original species.
