Evolution Korea
Up until recently the Korean scientific community resisted working with creationists due to the fear of giving the movement more credibility. However, silence is no anymore an option.
The STR has been fighting to remove the content on evolution from textbooks,
에볼루션 바카라 무료 including the discovery that the feathered Archaeopteryx was an ancestral bird. This is only one example of the way in which the development paradigm has evolved.
What is Evolution?
The theory of evolution is a scientific one that explains the changes in genetic characteristics of living organisms over time. The theory is based on the fact that living organisms adapt to their surroundings which can result in changes in genes or even complete genomes. These changes can over many generations lead to the creation of new species. The most popular theory of evolution is natural selection, which describes the process by which those with favorable characteristics live and reproduce more frequently than those with less favorable characteristics. As time passes, this difference in reproduction could lead to the development of completely new species.
The word "evolution", which comes from the Latin for revealing or unrolling, has been used in many different ways as the concept has developed in both science and elsewhere. Early evolutionists such as Erasmus Darwin (Charles’s grandfather) and Jean Baptiste de Lamarck believed that species were predestined to change into a new species. Etienne Geoffroy St-Hilaire, Lamarck's embryologist student who coined the term "transmutation" to describe this theory. Charles Lyell, who published the second volume of his Principles of Geology in 1833 opposed this notion and borrowed the term "evolution" from Geoffroy's student to describe the idea that species are evolving into different species in a gradual and predictable manner.
More recently, evolutionary biologists have defined evolution as a process that occurs when living things develop characteristics that increase their chances of survival, or their ability to reproduce offspring. In time this genetic variation can result in the development of entirely new biological functions or physical traits in the same population. Natural selection is the main force behind most evolutionary changes. However non-genetic changes like the increase in muscle mass due to diet or exercise can't be considered to be examples of evolution since they are not passed on to future generations.
Despite the fact that evolution has withstood the tests of time and thousands of scientific studies Creationists have taken advantage of the idea that evolution is controversial to claim that it shouldn't be taught in school. In South Korea, creationists won a few victories over evolution in textbooks for high schools. This includes the removal of all references to the evolutionary roots of humans as well as Archaeopteryx which is a feathered dinosaur that is believed to be the ancestor of birds.
Why is Evolution Important for Humanity?
Evolution explains how the Earth and all its living species evolved. It is also one of the foundations of biology, and aids scientists discover how living things operate and develop. Evolution also shows the connections between different species. Scientists study evolution in order to better understand nature and make useful discoveries such as new medicines.
The evidence for biological evolution is overwhelming. There is no other scientific theory that explains so many aspects of the universe and life on Earth and has been rigorously tested and verified over many years. Many people, including religious leaders, are in favor of the scientific theory of evolution. It is important to understand that evolutionary biology doesn't contradict religious beliefs, as the theory deals only with objects, events and processes in the physical world.
In fact many religious individuals have come up with ways to reconcile their beliefs with the theory of evolution. For example some Christians believe that God created the universe through evolution and that humans have an ancestry with other animals.
It is crucial for scientists to advocate for the teaching of evolution. Unfortunately, in some nations around the world the anti-evolution movement is growing. In the United States some states have taken steps to limit the teaching of evolution. In South Korea, a group known as the Society for Textbook Revise, an offshoot from the Korea Association for Creation Research (KAC), is campaigning for textbook content on the evolutionary history of horses and their Avian ancestor Archaeopteryx.
It is vital to remember, however, that the evidence in support of evolution is overwhelming. The evidence comes from a broad range of sources, such as fossils, genetic studies, and the behavior of living organisms. Other scientists independently verify the evidence.
The vast majority of scientists believe in the theory of evolution. The reasons behind this support are diverse. Certain scientists study evolution in order to make practical discoveries, such as developing medications, while others are motivated by an interest in improving the quality of life for animals and plant species, generally for the benefit of humans. Some scientists are simply curious, whereas others have an intense faith in God.
What is Creationism?
Creationists are people who believe that God created the universe and everything in it. They also believe the Bible is God's word and should be taken literally. While some creationists are not Christian but they are a majority. Creationists generally fall in one of two categories: Young Earth creationists (YEC) and old earth creationists (OEC).
The YECs are perhaps the most well known form of creationist, and they believe that God created the world exactly as described in the Bible. They believe that the biblical account of the six days of creation is literal and that the universe and the life on Earth started only recently.
OECs aren't as well-known However, their beliefs are as fierce as the YECs. OECs believe that the universe and all life on Earth are billions of years old and they believe that evolution is a myth.
Both types of creationism reject that scientific principles such as natural selection and biogenesis can explain how life came to be on Earth. They claim that evolution is not possible because it would require an extraordinary event, and that the founders of modern science rejected miracles out of fear that they would lose credibility.
Some creationists accept both naturalistic evolution and special creation, and call their position "theistic evolution." This is sometimes also referred to as "continuous creationism" or "evolution from the original species." This theory states that God creates species from scratch and allows them to change over time. Then the evolutionary changes result in new species identical to the original species.
Other creationists believe that God created the universe and

They also reject the concept of abiogenesis and argue that the self-replicating creation of organisms from nonliving matter is unattainable.
In general, the creationists are opposed to the teaching of evolution in schools. This position is supported by numerous professional organizations, including the National Science Teachers Association, the Association for Science Teacher Education as well as the American Anthropological Association, and the Geological Society of America. Some academic institutions and scientists are, however, more flexible and

What is Creationism?
When people think of the concept of the concept of creationism, a lot think of the United States. South Korea also has an anti-evolutionist group. The publishers of high school textbooks have recently announced that they will remove references to evolution from their books. A group known as the Society for Textbook Revise (STR), an independent body that is an offshoot of the Korea Association for Creation Research which is the driving force behind the campaign. The STR has won its first victory by removing from textbooks evidence of the evolution and

STR claims that it has the backing of 4,000 families as well as individual members. Its aim is to root out what it believes is the "atheist materialism" that reflects a hopeless worldview for students. It also hopes to combat the influence of American Creationists in the nation. A survey of trainees in biology found that half didn't believe in evolution. The causes are not evident, but they could be due to religion or the absence of creation scientists in the country.
The KACR achieved many things through its seminars and lectures in the past. It has a bimonthly news magazine, Creation, and has published books. The most notable of these is a text on the natural sciences with an evolutionary perspective that attracted the attention of college communities. In 1991, a professor and minister started teaching Creation Science in one university and it is taught to this day.
On August 6 and 7 the 7th of August 1993, which coincided with the World Expo opened in Daejeon, KACR held a second International Symposium on Creation Research. Six lecturers from the world, including ICR's John Morris, Duane Gish and Steven Austin spoke to audiences of several thousand. KACR and its members have been giving lectures on creation science at major seminaries as well. KACR plans to establish a Creation Science Education Center in the near future.
