You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are also excellent and the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only minor issue is that it can crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but a quick glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.

Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-filling.

The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot vacuum cleaners reviews touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive models available and comes with many additional features that set it apart.
