World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will increase an additional 3% of the previous damage every time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor in order to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item upgrader it is applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item upgrade's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of that equipment using less Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of an armored weapon or. Each Glyph has a specific range of values can enhance a stat by. The value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your gear. Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and once enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This can be a disadvantage, as it can make the item more expensive if you do not require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to do so. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can waste lots of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as dolphins). The item can be upgraded multiple times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. Requirements
