WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same
item upgrades from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool with a The button will show the item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the
item upgrades slot, and the current
item level upgrade level. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an
item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.
Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players finish certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3, a number of new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less even when they are part of an entirely different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment of a particular rank, and that every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the type or gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another significant modification is that crests have one purpose therefore it's essential to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the
Best item upgrader gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
