WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the
item upgrader kit has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to level up weapons tools, armor, and accessories. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will show an item's preview at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an
Best item upgrader has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Upgraders for items are available at many locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require several methods, which is both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with some new features added. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain level of
item upgrader mod for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same
Item Level Upgrade level, will cost less. This applies even if those items are from an entirely different set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available when certain milestones are reached.
Crests
Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific
item upgrading level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for gear of a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate
upgrade item steps and paths.
Using these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another important change is that crests have one purpose therefore it's essential to use them properly. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount if all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
