The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of Chicco's more expensive models, but it has a wide array of features. It can be used as either a side-sleeper or as a standalone crib that is suitable for infants from birth to six months. It is easy to open and close the side panel thanks to a brand new mechanism. It's also more adjustable than its predecessor with 11 different height levels and retractable feet for a secure place under any bed.
Our testers loved the easy access the side panel provides that can be flipped up and down with just one push of one button. This was especially helpful at night, as they could reach in and pick their baby up without waking them up.
It is possible to lower the side panel by itself, but this isn't recommended as it increases the risk that your baby will be thrown out of the cot. But, the patented safety locking mechanism ensures that it will only remain in place if it is connected to the parent's bed correctly. This feature can be very beneficial for peace of mind if you're breastfeeding and require frequent night feeds.
Telescopic legs enable the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed including divan bases or beds with drawers. It also comes with a tilting function for babies with reflux and a rocking mode that can soothe them back to sleep after eating. It's also very
large bedside crib and has great ventilation due to its mesh sides.
The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our test subjects despite the lengthy instruction manual. It's a bit heavier than other side-sleepers, however it's quite portable and can be moved from room room with ease. It's also
small bedside cot enough to fit into its travel bag when not in use, which is a bonus in the event that you have to transport it. The only thing our test subjects found was that the side panel did not flex as much compared to other models. This made it a little harder to see your baby from your bed.
