World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it could boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. This is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high, depending on the upgrader you choose and the type of upgrade you choose to make. This is because of how many perks have to be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear, since PvP is limited at a lower level. The average item level is listed on the character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment players can look at the level of an item. It's an indicator of the item's damage and quality. The item level can also be used to evaluate items when examining a vendor's inventory.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item upgrader kit's full description, including ilvl. It can also be found by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are many theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory says that the level of an item is calculated using a formula that calculates how valuable the stats of an item really are. It is based on the fact that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

This isn't the only factor that influences the level of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped can change its stats. For example it can increase the item's haste or crit score. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant part of what determines the value of an Best item upgrader for players. The game makes use of them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon and to motivate players to explore other weapons. The stat mods on weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's skill.

The upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. A white or grey item, for example, will only be upgraded one time however, items with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times at more expensive costs.

Another method of altering the stats on an item is by affixing it. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and they come in all sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to provide items with extra damage, special capabilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by adding a name.

Currently, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circling arrows. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges similar to other rerolling methods.

Players can upgrade an item with specific stats or reroll attaches. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, however every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within that range, unless it is an item upgrading that is unique or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be altered by introducing an option to upgrade item the equipment without having to reroll the affixes, or selecting which stats to increase. But as with base equipment, this would have to be performed on a per-item basis, and the item compare interface would not display all the possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the likelihood of locating items, the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the possibility to obtain better equipment earlier in the game and is thus more useful in the early game as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances that increase with each item level. These can also be increased by using anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn using the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.

Moreover, certain items, like the Hollow infused weapon can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their items if it does not work.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The chance of success can only be increased as high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. Every item has an initial success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases that chance by 5percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This can obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
