WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item level Upgrade upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the item being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show an item's preview when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and current item upgrades level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
