Easy to Fold

It doesn't matter if you're keeping the car seat on its own, in the trunk of your car or even in a closet, it must be easy to fold and unfold. The best combos we've tested have an easy, one-handed fold that's compact and sturdy enough to use for long walks. They're also easy to maneuver, gliding effortlessly over bumps and uneven surfaces. Some combos are linked and disengaged by straps. This can seem like a step in the back and make it harder for parents to secure their car seat properly.

Easy to Assemble

Some car seat and stroller combos can be difficult to assemble. We discovered that the UPPAbaby Cruz v2 Combo was one of the easiest to build, and it even includes a handy quick-start guide which makes putting this system together an easy task. Other models, including the UPPAbaby Minu and UPPAbaby Vista V2 Thule urban Glide 2 and Baby Trend Snap-N-Go EX Universal were also relatively easy to assemble. However, the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 Combo is difficult to put together because it requires two in one pram steps: connecting the lower anchors and using straps that are placed over the bottom of the carrier. It's heavy, which means it requires two people to snap the carrier in the base, and then detach it.

In our tests, it took us about 5 minutes to put the UPPAbaby v2 together. This is relatively rapid when you consider how much time is saved by not having to take out all of the individual pieces. The toddler seat can be put together and removed with ease on most of these models.
