Its 8.5 cm height allows it to reach under furniture with low levels. Front cameras and an infrared sensor assist in navigating barriers, thresholds and obstacles with ease.
In our test of how well it cleaned baking soda close to corners and baseboards, the Scout RX3 was impressive. Its 2,500Pa of suction was a bit weaker than other robots but it moved quickly and was extremely quiet. It didn't mop however, and its removable cleaning pads were a bit difficult to attach and could not deal with dirt that had dried on.
Its app is a little basic, lacking advanced features like multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It does work with Alexa, but its voice controls aren't precise or responsive. It's also a bit flaky when it comes back to the charging station after a run. Other robots can follow the wall or trace a previous route however the RX3 bumbles around until it quits.
Another issue we faced was with its clever features, specifically the mapping function and digital keep-out zones. It was good at keeping our furniture legs and shoes away, but it was easily caught on socks, cables, and rugs. We decided not to include the Scout RX3 in our
best automatic vacuum Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and a dazzling performance. It's worth looking into as an alternative to traditional uprights.
