Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by much. The mop rotates at a high rate and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to collect larger pieces of debris, such as books and toys that have been damaged.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It doesn't create as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to install and is effective however this is something you'll have to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot automatic vacuum and mop that mops in our review, but it has some distinctive features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome sight in a space that is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
