World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using fewer Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure how much it will be improved following an update.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item will be obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to double or even eliminate the chances of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes within the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

In the final game, you will often find that the best way to enhance your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a stat by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is Best item upgrader to place Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance that a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, but also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items lets players increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires a different number of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets leveled up.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade item tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and once enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player improves a piece of equipment the original item will be replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This can be a downside since the item may increase in price even if you do not require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to do this. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with a level 1 base and a different set of bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can waste a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the max roll by 10 points. This item is extremely useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of a non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal and also increase their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear which can be upgraded up to eight times. Every when you upgrade an item it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item returning to its original state, which requires the player to pay for more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item upgrader is not upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like the chance to crit damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Players will still have to carry every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of the ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost listed above.
