Cost
When a player decides to upgrade an item, they must pay Gold for the upgrade. The cost of upgrading an item is based on the item's current level and type of upgrade. Upgrades to weapons are usually cheaper than upgrades for armor, since weapons have lower requirements. The amount of Gold required for upgrading an item increases as the item is upgraded.
The upgraded items will also have upgraded stats that will improve its performance in various ways. This can include increasing its attack power or critical strike chance. In addition an upgraded item could be able to offer additional buffs to the unit it is equipped with. These upgrades are able to increase the overall strength of a unit or a single unit, and could be a major influence on the gameplay.
Items can be upgraded at any item upgrader NPC in the game. These NPCs can be found in major questing areas, or capital cities. You can also find upgrades for items by visiting dungeons with high-level bosses, and speaking to NPCs at the garrisons of your faction.
The World of Warcraft
item upgrade system allows players to upgrade the level of their weapons, armor, and trinkets. This process is largely identical to that of gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however, instead of using the currency that is appropriate players must visit an item upgrader (
Resource) NPC to complete the process.
Upgrades can be expensive, especially for armor and weapons. Based on the upgrade path each step in the level of an item can cost several Valorstones or crests. The cost can be prohibitive for players who do not have the funds, or are unwilling to grind.
Fortunately, the game lets players play a reroll of an upgraded item by using a special tool in the items menu. This option will replace the upgraded item with the level 1 version which offers different bonus effects. This can be useful to get better rolls on items that are already upgraded. However, it could be a waste of time.
Requirements
Upgrading is the process of increasing the item level of equippable items, such as armor, weapons and trinkets. This boosts their effectiveness and makes them more effective in combat. Players can upgrade their gear by paying the appropriate currency at an item upgrader NPC. Players should be aware the fact that certain upgrades require special requirements.
Early upgrades only increase the power of the item's base level. Later upgrades offer more significant increases. For instance, upgrading a weapon from level three to level six can increase the weapon's damage by two levels. A bonus stat will be added to the upgraded item based on its level. The bonus consists of a substat that is guaranteed and an undetermined stat that can vary from upgrade to
upgrade item.
A player can Reroll an upgraded item using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a new version. The new item comes with a different set extra bonuses, and is of a lower level for the item. The rerolled item is also likely to have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to keep in mind that the item rerolled does not retain its original level or any wasted resources.
Rerolling some upgraded items is only possible if the item was upgraded was Epic Rare, Rare, or Unique. Extraordinary items can also be rerolled, however the original stats are replaced by an uncapped bonus. Rerolling an item that is Rare item will result in a Normal version of the same type, whereas the rerolling of an Epic item will result in an elite version of the same type.
An upgraded item might have extra modifiers, which can increase the stats of the item and boost its performance. These additional modifiers do not come with the upgrade price. They can be acquired through the questing process, purchasing them from the Trading Post or from other players. They can also be earned by completing certain tasks in the game.

Time is a factor.
Upgrades to items are a method to increase your gear and ship stats without needing to upgrade them. Upgrades aren't cheap, but they are a good method to boost your stats without having to spend so much time fighting. It's crucial to know the benefits and costs prior to making the investment of time or money.
Each upgrade increases the item's base stat in a specific amount, and gives the chance to obtain a bonus substat. The extra substat is random and could range from a small increase in one statistic to an even greater increase in another. Focus on the items that perform best in slot first. They will provide a greater return for your investment.

It is also possible to retrieve some or all upgrade components from an item using a high-end salvage kit that is sold by Black Lion Salvage and Ascended Salvage. However, this doesn't include legendary equipment or upgrades, which can only be retrieved using an Upgrade Extractor, or by recovering them through the appropriate Karma Merchant.
Rewards
The upgrading of items provides players with money and a variety of items. In addition, each
upgrade items has a chance to grant a random extra stat bonus. The amount of bonus value varies between upgrades, and is generally higher for rare items. Players can use the Great Vault search to see whether an item is upgradeable before spending tickets. The search can help determine whether the item is of a specific class and whether the player would benefit by an upgrade.
During the process of upgrading, an item will gradually advance to the next level, however, it isn't always able to reach the full upgrade bar. This process is based on Growthstones and Sollant however there is a chance of obtaining a fully upgraded item within just one cycle. The higher the levels an item is upgraded the more powerful its stat value will be and the more items can be upgraded.
Upgrade components can be integrated into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an attribute benefit or an additional effect while the equipment is in use. Some upgrade components have additional cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be acquired by crafting, buying from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving them as gifts. In addition, players can recover upgraded items using an Upgrade Extractor, or salvaging them with a salvage kit. Glyphs that are placed on tools for gathering can be freely swapped.
A player can turn an item to upgrade it into another item by selecting it and pressing the green button a reroll arrow. This will alter the layout and allow players to select up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item will be replaced by an item of level 1. Recycled items won't keep their level, nor the resources used to upgrade them.
An item's maximum upgrade level is determined by its tier and quality. Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels up to nine, while common items are only upgraded up to level six. The upgrades to an item are added to the item's base statistics which means that they will no longer increase after a certain amount.
