Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep your floors clean enough to reduce the frequency of manual hoovering. Pick a robot vacuum with good navigation, has the ability to clean stairs and corners and has a large bin that will need to be emptying every so often.
There are models that can mop and charge themselves This is an advantage that is essential for families with pets or children. A lot of the
top Rated robot Vacuum performers in our tests also have decent obstacle avoidance.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those looking for a an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the robot's dustbin once it gets full.
Both robots are proficient at removing surface dirt on carpets and hard floors and are able to navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ and other top rated robots we evaluated the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles which means it can get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it may have trouble navigating across surface transitions, such as from hardwood to rug.
iRobot suggests that you clean the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other clutter it might come across. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clear so they aren't clogged by dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it began. Battery life is about an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes about three hours to charge.
2. IRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest technology. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most crucial feature of all -- it has self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10
floor robot plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that lets it create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your robot using the app or voice.
The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying that removes a major source of maintenance and lowers the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and to move around the room and sweep the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected we were able to give the i7+ voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces power without fading for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system removes allergens, and then releases cleaner air back into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to suck up large dust and crumbs. It comes with three suction settings to meet the task that is being completed. It is able to swiftly change from handheld to
automatic floor cleaner vacuum and vice versa.
The model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100% within 3.5 hours. It also gives an easy access to two attachments and the wand. This is a huge improvement over the older Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.
The V10's main drawback is its limited run time. Its marketing claims that it can last up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading as CR's tests show. This is a common, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. It's still enough time to vacuum the majority of a home that's average size, but not quite long enough to get every single area (though the second time around usually can be effective). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeable superior for carpet floors with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to invest in a
best robot vacuum for large house. It's capable of sucking up most debris types and sizes during our testing, and it often goes over the same areas many times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach the corners and edges of walls.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. However, it isn't equipped with the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, including our top picks, the i3+EVO and j7+ Series. It may get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has less parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses, has more advanced automation abilities and can better maneuver its own. It also has a bigger dustbin and charges quicker.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using the voice assistant on your smartphone. It is also more durable, has a stronger motor, and is more effective on low-pile and bare floors.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a name you see on all sorts of electronic gadgets for your home, so it comes as no surprise that they're one of the most popular robotic vacuum and mop makers. Their Jet Bot AI+ is equipped with cutting-edge onboard technology to aid in navigation and obstacles avoidance.
The app provides plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior modification, docking frequency settings, and more. It's simple to comprehend and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and removed 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it didn't do particularly well with higher-up objects like cords or socks which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested and this could be a deterrent for some shoppers.
The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible via the app, and you can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to keep track of your pets or children when you're away from home. The dustbin and the filter can be washed for an easy, quick clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps keep the robot's bin clear and optimizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Contrary to other robotic vacuums that are specifically designed for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They come with a wide cleaning path and a larger dustbin that holds twice as much debris than competitors to keep the area clear for maximum runtime. Plus, they include two side sweepers to clean up around edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES model also comes with AutoSense, which automatically adjusts the power level depending on whether it's collecting dirt that is on the surface or embedded. It also comes with a
smart robot vacuums app that lets you view the virtual map, and control the functions and schedules. You can also monitor the status of the vacuum and connect it to the dock for charging at the click of a button. The app allows you to modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it's stuck.
The app allows you to steer the robot manually, if necessary. My living room rug, for instance is darkly colored which could cause a problem for other robots. However the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border without registering it as a cliff. And the ability to program weekly cleaning schedules is a fantastic time-saving feature.
