Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
Now is your chance to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's top-rated models will be available during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with discounts up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its most notable advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. This uses AI to detect objects like charging cords and shoes. It's also the first
best robot cleaner to automatically send you photos of an object it encounters so that you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop that we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills easily, leaving no trace that it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't sweep areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.
The design is also better than the competition. It has a sleek, high-end piece that appears like an toy, not the loud and annoying robot. The Clean Base
automatic vacuum cleaner Dirt Disposal System self-empties which is great to reduce the time spent cleaning.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to remove dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place, instead of scattering it on the floor. It even managed to catch small gravel and sand which other robots couldn't do. It did this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
The j7+, though not as sophisticated as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and can't clean the stairs, is an excellent choice for those who want both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates and it can be difficult to know if they are functioning until you actually witness them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking to purchase a robot vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your
best robot vacuum for vinyl plank floors option is probably hybrid. These robots come with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also have a range of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. They are expensive at retail, but usually are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock produces several of our top robotic vacuums and the Q5+ does not fail to impress. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and although it lacks certain features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent choice if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save a few hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes down to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an excellent option for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is an area where many cheaper robot vacuums often be a bit sloppy. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is excellent too, with very little missed corners and along walls.
The Q5+, as with other Roborock products, can be controlled by a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. Through the app, you can start and stop cleaning, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and adjust your home map, or re-label rooms.
If you select the Q5+ it comes with a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make this robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once it's installed it is done with relative ease. It also features an impressive LCD display which is great to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't essential for everyone, but it can help effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design is among the most innovative in the market, but it's expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks beautiful and is able to be concealed when not in use. But the station's main selling factor is its ability to automate various tasks and functions that most other robots will leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Most other robovacs will require you to perform this.
Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's the few robovacs I've tested that do an excellent job of cleaning up debris from plain floors, and is not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It also can't climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock that can create a cleaning area for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who need a
vacuum robot that can do everything.
However, if you're looking to save money or simply don't care about the limitations of this machine There are many other great choices on the market which include a variety of eufy models for significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive however it comes with more features, including the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, with a better overall vacuuming experience on floors that are unfinished carpets with low pile and even high-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpet floors, as well as a mopping function at an affordable price. It's easy to set up, simply attach one of the side brushes and turn it on, then plug in your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps required to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to leave the dock near an electrical outlet and ample space for it to move, however.
The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, meaning it can be placed under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is less ostentatious than some rival models, with sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The way that the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable items that are in its path. It keeps track of the items it has cleaned and what it is unable to access. If it requires a recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it began.
The eufy G30 isn't without its faults however. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, has the same battery life and is more effective on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It has a bigger dust bin that does not require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30, however is more affordable and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust canister does not require emptying as often and it struggles less with heavy materials like cereal.
