Unlike some of the other robovacs we evaluated, the i3+ EVO comes with a self-emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's full. This makes it easier to maintain the unit and also helps prevent the i3+ EVO from overfilling, however it still requires manually empty after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L, which is enough to last four to five cleaning sessions.

Similar to the i7, this model uses state-of-the-art floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. However the i3+ EVO only stores one map, whereas the i7 has the capacity to store multiple maps. The i7's map can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones, but not for the i3+ EVO.

The i3+ EVO does a better job of picking up surface debris compared to some other robovacs we've looked at, but it's not the best affordable robot vacuum at cleaning corners and edges. It's also not as gentle on furniture, despite being relatively quiet. It was quite rough on furniture, since it forced chairs away. It also caused collisions with the sides of the bed.

2. Black & Decker Pro Q5

If you're looking to increase your collection of robot vacuums, or are just starting out using one, the Q5 Pro is a great choice. It packs a lot of power, smart navigation, and handy automation into a sleek design for a reasonable price. It's the best self cleaning robot Vacuum value for the money you can get currently, and it even matches the Roborock models that are more expensive in a variety of ways.

This robot is fantastic at cleaning floors that are not clean and its avoidance technology helps it to steer clear of furniture legs or other obstacles. It also excels on carpets and gets the highest score on our tests on navigation. The only snag is that it's noisier than many other models we test, and it doesn't fare similarly in our user satisfaction and predicted reliability tests.

The Q5 Pro has a very large dust bin that is 770ml, which means you won't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute run time is also impressive when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots we tested. If the battery is low, it automatically returns to its dock where it recharges before resuming cleaning from where it began. You can manage the Q5 Pro via the app and also use voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

This is the first robot we've seen that incorporates 3D mapping. This along with other advancements, helped it perform exceptionally well in our tests for vacuuming and mopping tests. You can plan cleaning schedules, create no-go zones and see the battery's status, among other things. The app is simple to use, however it does not support Apple HomeKit. The feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. Apple updated its footnote on its website in November of this year to reflect the fact that the feature was delayed until 2025. HomeKit is not compatible with other robots, however Siri Shortcuts are.
