The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you need to choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It is smaller than other options, making it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best automatic vacuum navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery midway through cleaning.

It's quick and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one motion. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to sweep larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't make the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and is effective, but it's something you'll need to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a variety of features.

It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming but it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair from pets. It was able capture some of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even made it into the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots struggled. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who want a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum best vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is notable for its massive dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses the 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base has a couple of buttons for control, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

This can cause the X1 to become stuck if it is entangled in an obstacle, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It will not work until you untangle it manually. While it was not common, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert in its application.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, the mopping pad doesn't get washed or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for an industry dominated by boxy models.
