World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to an item are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases when it is upgraded. This value is the sum of all of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to the number of perks that have to be modified to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players can use, since PvP is limited at a lower level. Players can view their average level of item upgrading on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear, players can compare the levels of the item. It's an indicator of the item's damage and its quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done using the item level.

On PC, you can check the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full description of the item, including its value. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are many theories about how the level of an item is calculated. One theory suggests that the level of an item level upgrade is determined by formulas that determine the worth of an item's stats actually are. It considers the fact that different perks have different values, and also that gems in sockets add to the item's overall value. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is typically close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

It's not the only factor that affects the level of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may change its stats. For example it can increase the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the best." The stat mods on a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's level.

Upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers can be upgraded many times, at higher costs.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all shapes and sizes. The affixes are used to give items additional damage or other special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs), or to differentiate them by putting a name on them.

All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges just like the other methods of rerolling.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which of the available stats to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However every item will include at least one stat in the same range, unless it's a unique item, or a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to roll the attaches, or select which stats to enhance. Similar to the base equipment, this must be done per item, and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the chance of finding items and the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is especially beneficial in the early game, because players tend to put weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances that increase with each item level. It is also possible to be increased by using anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) for a further +40 luck or to increase the luck of the item to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any skill that deals damage by five percent. These items are available in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased as high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The luck of an item may affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has an average success rate of 25% and every item level upgrade with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects could be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
